PDO Thread Face Lift

PDO Thread Non-Surgical Face Lift

PDO Thread Non-Surgical Facelift

The PDO Thread Face Lift is a non-surgical minimally invasive face lift where fine surgical threads are used to lift the cheeks, jowls and neck. These surgical threads are made from polydioxanone (PDO), the same material used for surgical stitches, which is biocompatible and biodegradable. PDO threads slowly dissolve and are fully absorbed after 6-8 months leaving newly formed collagen bands in place.

PDO threading gives the benefits of a face lift without having to undergo a surgical procedure. It can instantly smooth and tighten jowls, deep lines and sagging skin without surgery. The minimally invasive non-surgical facelift involves collagen stimulating threads being placed under the skin and pulled to give the desired tightening and shaping. Long-lasting rejuvenated younger looking face.

Our bespoke PDO Thread Face Lift treatments are performed by our Registered Advanced Medical Aesthetics Practitioner and to deliver high-quality personalised treatments for subtle and natural looking results.

LONG LASTING RESULTS

In just one treatment you can expect to see instant, lasting results. Depending on the area treated, results can last for 18 to 36 months. The maximum effect of the PDO Thread Lift will be apparent 3-4 months after, and effects should last up to 2 years. With the use of local anaesthetic, the threads are injected into the skin using a fine needle. The threads are interlaced causing a tension and lifting of the skin, delivering an immediate lift and tightening of the skin. The threads stimulate the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, thickening, smoothing and strengthening the skin from within and improving elasticity so it delivers a lifted and youthful appearance for up to 2 years.

  • Results lasting 18 to 36 months
  • Procedure just as comfortable as filler injections
  • Painless & quick procedure. Zero down time, swelling usually subsides within a week
  • All treatments performed by our Registered Advanced Medical Aesthetics Practitioner
  • Lower cost and less invasive alternative to a traditional face lift

Some PDO threads have tiny cogs attached to them which grip sagging tissues, enabling the lifting and tightening of cheeks, jowls and neck. Other threads are smooth and are used to provide tissue support and to generate collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid to re-plump and smooth the skin.

The procedure takes no longer than an hour usually and clients can return to normal activities immediately. Some clients may experience a small amount of swelling, bruising and sensitivity for several weeks after the procedure. Antibiotics are always supplied by the doctor on the day to prevent any potential skin infection.

The PDO Thread Lift is an extremely effective, low risk procedure, and had become increasingly popular and fashionable in the last few years due to its excellent results and minimal pain and downtime. Dual effect of lifting the face as well as improving actual skin condition and texture.

PDO Thread Face Lift FAQ's

    • How much does a thread lift cost?

The cost for this procedure starts from £395 depending on how many threads are needed.

    • Thread lift for eyes

We offer Thread Lift for Eyes, primarily to help lift hooded eye lids without the use of surgery. There is a celebrity trend for ‘Fox Eyes’, which we do not offer as we specialise in natural looking results.

    • How long will the results last?

Thread lift results will depend upon the type of thread being used. The latest thread by APTOS can last over 3 years as they not only lift the skin but also encourage collagen regrowth.

    • Thread lift before and after

When you have your face to face consultation for a thread lift, please ensure that you ask for some recent before and afters for Thread Lifts.

    • How do I prepare for the treatment?

In the run-up to your Thread Lift treatment, you can continue your usual face care routine, but there are a few things to avoid if you want the best results.

It’s best to keep your skin hydrated before the procedure, so drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol and smoking for the week before treatment where possible.

For 24 hours before your treatment, you will need to avoid blood thinners such as aspirin and other anti-inflammatories like Ibuprofen or Aleve. This helps to reduce the risk of unnecessary bleeding or bruising following the treatment.

    • Does the treatment hurt?

On the day of your treatment, your Aesthetic Doctor will mark the areas to be treated and apply a local anaesthetic to help keep you comfortable. The thread is then inserted into the skin and gently put into place.

After inserting the suture, the Doctor will then apply slight pressure on the treated area to reshape the surface of the skin, smoothing and tightening it for instant, visible results.

The treatment usually takes around an hour, so you can fit it easily into your busy schedule. The lifting effect is immediate, with the full results continuing to develop in the coming weeks as your body creates new collagen.

    • What is the advised aftercare?

As the Thread Lift is a non-surgical and minimally invasive procedure there’s usually no recovery period required and you can get back to your day as soon as you leave the clinic.

You will need to avoid wearing makeup for 1-2 days to give your skin time to recover. It will be necessary to sleep on your back for around 7 day. You must also avoid high impact sports, saunas, dental treatments and facial or beauty treatments for several weeks while your skin fully heals.

You may experience slight bruising or discomfort for a few days after the treatment, but this is usually very mild and dissipates very quickly.

    • What is a silhouette soft thread lift?

A Silhouette Soft Threads are different from PDO Threads in one special way, they are injected with HA, which further stimulates collagen production.

Silhouette Soft is a non-surgical, minimally invasive treatment to redefine facial contours with immediate results.

    • How long does silhouette soft thread lift last?

The lifting effect of the Silhouette Soft treatment is immediate since it results from the compression of tissues and elevating the skin when the sutures are being implanted. This effect will improve as post-procedure swelling subsides and may last for between 18 months to about two years.

    • Can it cause sagging?

The authors of a 2019 study found that a PDO thread lift caused immediate improvements in skin sagging after the procedure.

    • Can a thread lift break?

It’s quite rare for the thread lift to break a thread provided that you follow the aftercare guidance. An experienced thread lift doctor will know exactly where to place the threads and how many are required. With this is mind, please ensure that your doctor is exceptionally qualified and experienced in thread lifts.

    • Thread Lift vs Fillers?

For an instant result, we’d recommend opting for fillers, with visible results within a week, rather than the PDO Thread lifts which can take slightly longer for the full results to show once the new collagen and elastin in the skin has formed.

    • Thread lift eyebrow?

Brow lift using PDO threads is another non-surgical, minimally invasive cosmetic procedure designed to provide a more youthful facial appearance without the need for downtime.

    • How many years does a thread lift last?

Thread lifts generally last between 12 and 18 months. However, this depends on the individual patient and their age, lifestyle, skin type and how quickly their body breaks down the sutures.

    • Which thread lift lasts the longest?

PDO threads have been around longer and are made from a biodegradable synthetic polymer that has been used in surgery for many years. PDO threads are absorbed into the body for 6 months by hydrolysis and work by activating fibroblasts to produce more collagen in a specific area.

    • What are the risks of a thread lift?

Thread Lifts carry minimal risk if performed by an experienced medical practitioner.
